We join the World Day Against Climate Change

31 / 10 / 2023

We have joined the United Nations Act Now campaign with different actions to raise awareness about the importance of reducing our impact to fight climate change.

Recently, to the 4Ds of DOMINION that represent our culture (Digitalization, Decentralization, Diversification and Financial Discipline) we have added a 5th: Sustainable Development.

Among the 8 pillars of our Sustainability Strategy are the reduction of emissions and the circular economy. For this reason, we decided to join the World Day Against Climate Change, celebrated last October 24th, to carry out a campaign with the entire DOMINION team.

We Are and We Do Sustainability

At DOMINION we are committed to being and doing sustainability, maximizing our positive impact and, at the same time, helping our clients to be more sustainable through our activity.

Currently, a third of our activity is considered taxonomic by the EU and we expect almost all of it to be so as the remaining 4 objectives are published. That is why, throughout the week, we shared cases such as this one of our Environmental Services team that improves the sustainability of the industry through the management and recovery of waste, favoring the circular economy, and the application of technologies that allow them to reduce the impact of the industrial activity.

Additionally, we are committed to being a more sustainable company. We signed the United Nations Global Compact and we have also joined the Science Based Targets initiative to set improvement objectives based on science. An example of our philosophy of "being" is this case that Eduardo Carrellán brings us, explaining the ecological clearing that we carry out in El Soco photovoltaic plant in the Dominican Republic.

We Do Sustainability

We Are Sustainability

Additionally, many of our offices started the week with the campaign poster and a gift for everyone on the team. A solid shampoo, 100% vegan, as well as a card printed on sustainable paper with seeds that reminds us that with small changes in our daily lives we can make a difference.

In countries such as Chile and Mexico, talks were given with informative material on climate change and some offices organized healthy and sustainable breakfasts with seasonal fruits and local products (km0) with a reduced environmental footprint.

A delicious way to end a month in which we have also joined the IBEX ESG, an index with which BME seeks to highlight and support companies that promote sustainable business practices in Spain.
