After the successful start-up of the Regional Hospital of Antofagasta in Chile at the end of 2017 and following our end-to-end proposal, we have continued providing administration, maintenance and replacement services for medical equipment and technological systems installed at the hospital.
We have recently carried out the fifth technological modernization process for microcomputing equipment, which has involved the replacement and updating of more than 3,000 devices. Among them, 1,800 computer equipment (fixed equipment, laptops, tables and touch equipment), 280 printers for the use of clinical staff as well as support equipment including projectors and datashows.
Thanks to this process, the hospital continues at the technological forefront both in terms of clinical and administrative services. This replacement and technological update allows clinical staff to provide hospital medical services, which favors a population of more than 600,000 people from 4 regions of the country who require primary, emergency and specialized care.
5 renewal processes without interrupting health services
With this latest renovation, we reached more than 6,000 replaced devices and technological components. A process that we have always executed without the need to interrupt the health services that this establishment provides 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
The updated equipment is integrated and configured with the datacenter equipment and clinical application framework that allows the development of administrative activities, access to the patient's clinical history, digital medical imaging, laboratory, analytical activities, as well as the application specific management of concessioned services.
Likewise, the modernization also includes the corresponding base and application software components that, for reasons of security, validity and optimization of the use of computer resources, go through permanent UPDATE processes, and in a very specific way UPGRADE. In each process, specific impact analyzes are carried out to ensure 100% compatibility with the other systems of the digital framework with which they interoperate.
A specialized team
The key to the success of this renewal has been having a specialized technical support team that designs all the actions before and after the activity of replacing and installing the new equipment, which allows us to always meet the projected deadlines.
Our end-to-end management includes supplies and software updates provided by world-class manufacturers and suppliers, to ensure compliance with manufacturing, pre-configuration, transfer and hospitalization deadlines for equipment in the Hospital.
Equally relevant is the entire process of recycling electronic waste ensuring the sustainable management of the modernization process from start to finish.
