The aim of the project is to free up spaces in the current building, group different services and make the management of patients at the Arnau de Lleida outpatient clinic more efficient, which more than 1,960 people attending every day.
The building will have a constructed area of 19,041 m², distributed between the ground floor and four floors that will house Pediatric, Endocrinology, Oncology, Digestive, Rheumatology, Chronic Wound, Gynecology, Dermatology, Hematology, Internal Medicine, Breast and Genetics Unit offices.
In order to carry out the project in such a short period of time, it will be built in an industrialized way, carrying out the installations in the workshop (instead of the hospital location) thanks to 3D design. With this system the number of people in the same space is reduced and the risk of accidents is minimized.
The entire process will be controlled using the lean construction methodology that allows establishing a plan to be able to finish the work on time and implement a production control system capable of continuously evaluating and adjusting the planning.
This is not our first project with the Servei Català de la Salut. Our team was also in charge of the design and installation of the Moises Broggi multipurpose hospital in Sant Joan Despí in Barcelona. One of the five hospitals that were built to increase the care capacity of the health system during the COVID-19 pandemic and that was completed in just 20 weeks.
