27 / 01 / 2021

Thus, we begin 2021 following our commitment, included in the 2019-23 strategic plan, to accelerate the growth of our 360 division of renewable projects.

At DOMINION we have secured the remuneration of a 45 MW installation of photovoltaic energy, together with our partner BAS. We have been awarded a higher that average price in the auction published on January 26th for the expansion of renewable generation in Spain.

Since 2016 we have a division dedicated to the development, construction, operation and maintenance of clean energy infrastructures. The division has already achieved a solid and diversified portfolio of projects of more than 1 GW, distributed in countries where we are already present, mainly in Europe (Spain, Italy and Portugal) and Latin America (Mexico, Dominican Republic and Argentina).

In the field of photovoltaic energy, we have developed large projects such as the construction of KAIXO, the most important self-supply solar park in the country with 204,060 panels and an installed power of 65,000 kW. Another of our milestones in this field was the development of the largest photovoltaic park in the Dominican Republic in Mata de Palma with a total capacity of 67.000 kw.

Among the rest of the winning companies in the auction are companies such as Iberdrola and Naturgy, Capital Energy, EDP Renováveis (EDPR) or Acciona with the aim of developing a total of 3,000MW of photovoltaic and wind energy that will generate around 27,000 jobs in Spain.

With this auction, the calendar programmed by Spain to auction 19.44 GW of renewables until 2025 begins. A great step in the fulfillment of the decarbonisation commitments included in the Paris Agreement and in the National Integrated Climate Energy Plan (Pniec).
