A growing need for electric vehicle charging

16 / 11 / 2022

The European Union recently approved a ban on the sale of combustion vehicles from the year 2035.

A measure that, in addition to diesel and gasoline, will also affect other biological and synthetic fuels. As of that date, only 100% electric vehicles can be sold in the region, which will also mean the end of hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Latin America is also advancing steadily in this trend. According to data from the National Association for Sustainable Mobility of Colombia, in 2021, 118,191 hybrid and electric vehicles were registered in Latin America, which represents an increase of 107.1% compared to 2020.

Electric mobility is advancing unstoppably and with it new challenges and opportunities arise, including the deployment of enough charging stations in different points for users.

DOMINION's experience

At DOMINION we started the first project for the installation of electric charging points in 2018. Our turnkey proposal allows us to manage all the services (application for permits, design, equipment installation and subsequent maintenance) always relying on our digital capabilities and our knowledge of electrical processes.

Today, we are carrying out the construction of fast charging points in key areas for users such as office buildings, service areas, parking lots, hotels, shopping centers, restaurants and gas stations for clients such as Zunder, Wenea, Power dot or Endesa X.

We also collaborate with Endesa X in the installation of ultra-fast charging points for TMB's electric buses, making Barcelona a more sustainable city, with a clear commitment to electric traction, green energy and climate change mitigation.

The world is moving towards a more sustainable mobility model and at DOMINION we love being part of the transformation of the energy sector.
